Job Summary
Assist plumber with installs and services associated with medical gas applications in the Health Care System.
Responsibilities
• Help lay out copper piping and components of the medical gas installations.
• Performs pipe fitting duties, cuts holes in walls, floors and ceilings to gain access to piping. Properly supports, fastens and insulates piping systems. Installs pipe flanges, gaskets, and bolts into place. Makes up piping installations, including elbows, couplings, valves and other fittings.
makes necessary repairs or replacements to keep all systems in operating working condition.
• Must be able to complete repairs on medical gas outlets. Training is available if not familiar with medical gas outlets.
• Must be able to work on scaffolds and tall ladders for working in high ceilings.
Qualifications
• A high school diploma or GED is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience with working in hospital and other healthcare environment a plus.
• FDNY Certificate of fitness F-60.
• Vocational school training with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing or related courses are a plus.
• Some travelling required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft word.
