Rehabilitation works of Culture House complete in Marani
Georgia: According to the order of the National Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia, the final stage of the village Marani Culture House restoration works is being supervised by architect-restorers and constructors.
Facade rehabilitation is being completed, and internal repairs are actively underway. Painting, decorative ornaments, and other valuable elements are being taken care of, while the maintenance of the garbage disposal and the facilities is being carried out.
After completing the works, it will become a multicultural center of modern standards and host several important and exciting cultural projects throughout the region.
The agency allocated 4 755 611.67 GEL for the rehabilitation works of all three stages of the Marani Culture House . The works are performed by “Yukon and Company,” the winner of the electronic tender.
As it is known, the rehabilitation of the unique culture house in the village of Marani was completed in September 2021 during the visit of the Georgian Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Thea Tsulukiani, to Abashi Municipality.
The Minister informed the local population that the Ministry of Culture shared the initiative of the Member of Parliament of Georgia, Levan Mgaloblishvili , and decided to rebuild the House of Culture in the village of Marani. In December of the same year, a rehabilitation project of the Marani Culture House was developed, for which the Ministry allocated 133,331 GEL.
The following works have already been completed within the framework of the rehabilitation: demolition of late buildings and cleaning of the area (roof, floor, tiles, late building, toilet in the yard, and more); strengthening of the foundation and retaining walls of the building; installation of stage reinforced concrete structures and flight; installation of the roof of the building; engineering-utility interior Network management; Construction of Saqabi, Sakloratoro, Pumping Station, Supply Reservoir Jobs; installation of biodegradable waste disposal; installation of drinking water borehole; installation of outdoor water and sewerage grid; installation of outdoor fire grid; installation of electrical, heating, cooling, ventilation and outdoor lighting. Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Thea Tsulukiani got acquainted with the progress of the works in 2023.
Village Marni House of Cultu re was built in the middle of the XIX-XX centuries in the eastern part of the village, MD, on the right bank of Horsewater. Due to major repairs and remodeling carried out in the 1980s, fragments of a building from the beginning of the XX century are now left. Particularly impressive is the club, which has an adult stage, theater performances, and film screenings; its walls and ceiling display muses.
It should be noted that restoration and rehabilitation will fully preserve and restore the building’s historical image and all the architectural and artistic elements left in its exterior or interior.
The building is one of the most prominent in the region and has been a cultural heritage monument since 2016. According to one version, it was built by Italian architects.
